Communications and Presentation
This award is for achievement in communicating information relating to landscape and/or landscape architecture to those within or outside the profession. The emphasis should be on the medium employed to express the information with landscape issues at its core and any results achieved.

Typical entries
Typical entries may include:
- Business pitches — presentation materials and supporting documents
- Promotional plans and campaigns including marketing materials, such as a leaflet, or press releases with cuttings/ broadcast coverage generated
- Websites or blogs, company or project specific videos, visualisations, other digital representations
- Information for the general public introducing them to the profession
- Public or community consultation/engagement materials from exhibitions and workshops etc
- Explanatory or promotional documents, films, publications
- Materials used in schools such as lesson plans and handouts, design workshops
- Induction details and explanatory notes for work experience participants
- Presentations on landscape history or planning design technology
- Competition entries
- Books or product catalogues
- Application of technology
Judging criteria
- Identification of target audience
- Identification of key message(s) and ability to focus on these in communication
- Appropriate choice of medium
- Design of medium: graphics, images and relevance to message and audience
- Exploration of potential of medium
- Clarity of communication
- Understanding of achievements and improvements for future communications and materials
Specific requirements for entry
- Copy of the communications material
- Evidence of results achieved or feedback from those with whom the materials communicated
- URL should also be provided so that data heavy content may be viewed online

- Details of LI professional member responsible for production of work
- Client / Owner authority
- Project details (client and project team, site information, site size, relevant dates, brief, budget, phasing details)
- Covering statement, up to 600 words, including
- Purpose: describe the project requirements, scope, context, philosophy and intent.
- Role of the landscape professional: describe the precise role and responsibility of the LI professional member and the role of all other significant participants including owner or client.
- Significance: explain the project’s relevance to the client, the profession, the public and the environment. Describe how the project meets the criteria for judging in the appropriate category and why it is worthy of an award.
- Innovation: explain how the project is unique or special, together with any unusual or demanding problems which were solved
- Why this project deserves to win an award
- List of contractors and partners to be credited in publicity materials if the entry wins an Award
- File upload: Submission document addressing the Specific Requirements for Entry set out above, in PDF format, 100MB max file size. Refer to the Submission Document Requirements in the ‘How to Enter’ page for more details of what to include in this document.
- Images upload: You can upload up to 15 images (JPEG, at least 300dpi) from your submission document, to be featured in promotional material and publicised by the LI. For each image, you will need to provide a brief description, image credit and confirmation that it can be used in publicity.
- Online media: if you have referenced a video or website in your submission, provide the URL
